Hi wildcat

It could be a challenge but I do prefer to see them as different oracles...

Yes Stanze,

sure it's better to see them as different oracles, I was just wondering if there are some similarities for doing the grand tableau, as the gypsies have no numbers at all on them!! Crystal Ball

The Gypsy LWB shows a layout with all 36 cards, and based on the location of the querent card, you can determine past/future.

You don't need numbers to read a GT; those are only useful to easily determine the "houses" which aren't a required technique anyway.

Are you going to experiment? Very Happy

Do you have the Piatnik Gypsy deck? That's the LWB I was referring to. I think it shows the 9x4 layout, and talks about interpreting directionally from the qeurent card, and I'm sure you could use other cards to read about family, money etc.

It's a little-known fact, but the "Grand Tableau" isn't limited to Lenormand. A couple of books published in the early 1900s use a similar method to read playing cards, although they don't get into the complications of reflection and houses -- both of which also have roots in playing card methods. Reflection is card pairing, which was used a lot by Etteilla, and houses were used in the "master method," which is attributed to Lenormand herself (she would have used playing cards).

So feel free to experiment -- just let us know how it works!

Yep, I've been working on a list of corresponding cards. There are a few cards that I can't seem to connect, but most fit very nicely. I'll see if I can dig up what I have and post it here. (I've been working on a list of correspondences for the Lenormand and PCs too)

Yes, that makes sense. I was thinking Malady could work too since it relates to health.

Hi everyone!!

I wonder if Clouds could be represented by Sadness, a bad period, bad influences and Path by Thought, thinking, trying to make up one's mind? What do you think about this?
