Gypsy Fortune Telling Cards - Daily Draw
Although I know daily card draws are never as influential as a formal reading, I'm still a little uncomfortable with the outcome of this morning's Lenormand Daily Card Draw.
I decided to try a daily draw with another oracle to see if it will confirm the message shown in the Lenormand. I wanted to try something different, so I chose the Gypsy Fortune Telling Cards, and they most definitely confirm that treachery is afoot! [How's that for a little drama?
]
Here's what I drew...

Journey could represent an actual trip, but I don't have anything planned, so perhaps it simply refers to forward movement or progress. Thief could be an enemy, or perhaps simply deception, and Loss is loss.
I don't have much experience with interpreting this oracle, but even a newbie can see that this is not a positive reading.
Now I'm just waiting for the other shoe to drop!

Heh.
I love the look of those cards; I had considered starting with those instead of Lenormand, but opted to go with Lenormand as it has a decent presence of people working with it so I have people to talk to and learn with or from.
Looking at these cards (and being perhaps biased by your other spread), I see momentum being stolen by someone, resulting in a loss. I get the feeling it applies to interference with a project, and someone's involvement causing a setback.

I've recently fallen in love with these cards myself, and it's frustrating that there are no good books available to learn the Gypsy Fortune Telling Cards. Perhaps that's a good thing though, because it will force me to let the cards speak to me rather than simply regurgitating someone else's meanings.

I considered that I might be biased by the previous reading myself, but I get the exact same feeling from these cards. It think it might be worthwhile at this point to try an actual spread to see what more I can pick up on this situation. I might try something with the Gypsy Fortune Telling Cards and post it here.
Thanks for you insights!

I love these cards too, I'm getting some good results with them, probably for the same reason Kaph mentioned, there is not much on them and so one must use his own imagination or impression!!
Your drawing is not very positive but I've found out the Loss sometimes could mean "keeping the cards in your own hands"...

Looking at the images alone, they could bring a different message. Something you have been keeping to yourself for a long time will be out in the open. Willingly, I mean. I figured the trip and the thief meant being evasive and the two men sitting at the table reminded me of laying it out/cards on the table. So, here's my take.

Neat artwork, they look like Sibilla drawn with a more modern artwork. How many are there? These match Sibilla cards.

They say that even a blind pig can find an acorn once in awhile! Could someone help me look, I keep running into this tree.
Sometimes I can't even find the tree for the wood.

Hi greieras,
Thank you! I am familiar with Esther Gambor's book, but because it's self-published her asking price of over $50 US is a bit steep. I wonder... do you own this book? Does anyone have this book and absolutely love it??
Esther offers a preview of her book on her website which includes one spread and a couple of card meanings. The book looks pretty good, and I may consider purchasing it at some point, but in the mean time I have picked up some good tips from reading Esther's blog Gypsy Cafe. She describes some of the mini readings she's done for clients, which are worth looking at for insight into how Esther reads these cards.

Hi Wildcat,
I like your take on the Loss card, I'll have to think how that might apply to the other cards in the spread. Perhaps the risk is for some kind of betrayal if I don't keep my cards close to my chest.
Thank you for you insights!

Hi Ana,

ETA: When I figure out exactly what these cards are referring to, I'll post some feedback on this thread!
Re: Gypsy Fortune Telling Cards - Daily Draw
Yes, $50 seems pricey!
ETA: I am looking at the sample, although I don't want to work with yet another system... I don't see why these cards can't be read along the lines of Lenormand. I would be interested to see the author's chapter on associations to the tarot though.
Two random tidbits about these Hungarian Gypsy cards: I particularly like the Message and Death cards in this deck. And I'm of Hungarian descent on one side of the family.

Daily Draw for 6-10-09
Interesting daily draw for tomorrow...

Unexpected Joy + Letter looks like some unexpected news on the way that will make me very happy. Message confirms that a message is on the way, and that it will come quickly. Message could also indicate that the news is important and may have far reaching consequences.
I decided to draw an additional card for clarification to see if I could find out something about the news coming, and I drew Loss.

I'm not sure how to interpret the Loss card... Perhaps Message + Loss indicates that I shouldn't jump to any conclusions or make any rash decisions based on the news. Maybe I am warned to keep my own counsel until I understand the full consequences of the message.
We shall see!
