can you be so kind to tell me what card or combination could represent an enemy ( woman) in the Zigeuner or Biedermaier?
Cards are bisexual, they have no problem bending gender. So Enemy with a female card of some sort.Another card with a man on it. Simple!Or another man, let's suppose a woman has got 2 love interests, beside the Lover?Pretty much what Kaph said. You just look at the cards, don't worry about the titles too much. You can see the people interacting in lots of ways.
Thanks Fennario,
I'll figure out my own system based on symbolism and images!!

Hi ALL !I am Hexeh from Hungary ...and i like using gypsy cards .I use Gypsy Fortune Telling card with 36 cards that is the most popular in Hungary and a second one in Germany...Many think it is a very simple card because of its simple titles but the cards have much deeper meanings through their symbols and pictures. It is true sometimes not too easy to interpret its answers.I am looking forward your posts about it and many thanks for foruming about it. I thought its not so popular in the USA than in Europe...HexeH

Hi HexeH,
Welcome to the forum!
I've just recently discovered the Gypsy cards, and I have fallen in love with them. They seem to be gaining some popularity through websites and blogs.
I hope you'll consider sharing some of your knowledge and experience with the Gypsy cards!
As you can see, there are a few of us here on the forum who have begun working with them, and it's frustrating that there isn't a lot of information in English about these cards.

Hi Hexeh,
Some of us here really like them. I prefer the european oracles like Zigeuner, Biedermeier, Lenormand, etc. to the stuff they have here in the states. They seem more serious, you can get answers out of them.

I'm with Fenn, the european oracles are fantastic. It took me a little while longer to warm up to the Gypsy cards, as I found them harder at first to link. But now I really love them, and marvel at the messages.
I never thought I'd become more of an oracle person than tarot, but I think the scales have tipped! lol
I hope we can get some good discussions going here on them.
I really like the artwork on the Biedermaier from what I've seen of it- does anyone know where I could see all the cards??

Re: Hungarian Gypsy Fortune Telling Cards (Zigeuner Wahrsagekarten)
Repeated exposure to the artwork of these cards over the last month finally caused me to break down and order these yesterday. Gypsyfair.com worked out best for price with shipping.
I'm noticing that myself.
Something about the oracles is certainly appealing; I never thought I'd ever do anything that wasn't tarot. Yet here I am. I don't see myself showing interest in the variety of modern oracles that are produced though; these European cards with historical tradition and depth to them are more interesting to me. They seem intended to actually talk about things in concrete terms with surprising depth for someone who knows them (judging my experienced Lenormand readers), and I like that.

Woohoo! congratulations! I think you'll enjoy exploring them.
I'm totally in agreement with you conerning the historical tradition with the European cards - I'm also just very attracted to the old fashioned artwork. I think the Gypsy, Kippers, and the Sibilla cards rank right up there with the Lenormand - I like them all for different reasons, but I continually get accurate readings with them.
I really like getting the nitty gritty stuff!
