Is anyone familiar with a card reading method that uses more than one deck?
I became interested in the gypsy cards specifically because a woman read for me with them and I'd never seen them before. As with many of the gypsy style decks, the reading gave very specific detail and included time frames. She combined three decks and read with a method very similar to the no layout. I've been searching for information about this for almost a decade now.
Thanks,

Hi Contessa!
I have seen something like that, a cartomancer did a reading for me many years ago using two decks of gypsy cards and a general reading. May be they need more cards for lay outs.

This lady used three decks. I remember that because at one point when she was throwing, constancy came up three times in the same row and she said that there was something about a person's eyes that was going to catch my attention. She was very good. Totally old school too - would not read for you unless three months had passed since the last read. I wish I lived closer to where she was. I would love to have her read for me again.

Sounds very intriguing!

I find this incredibly intriguing too! When I read your first post, I assume that the reader was using three different Gypsy-type decks--- did she use three of the exact same deck all shuffled together into one big deck?
I would love to know more about her system if you ever do make it back for another reading!

Yes, it was three of the same deck shuffled into one large deck. I would ask a question, she would shuffle and would start to throw out cards. She did not use a formal spread - just lines. I don't recall how many cards were in the line and she would throw one line, then a second on top of it, a third on top of the second, ect. She built the reading based on these lines. It was really very interesting. The way I read now is similar to what I recall her doing.
I just thought about this again after I had finished reading for someone last night. I thought I might attempt this method with the Lenormand, but starting with two decks and see how it works for me. My reasoning at the time was that each card mean several different things and it might be easier to read this way. A lot of the time I have a habit of anticipating people's questions when I read for them (oddly I have never had a complaint about this) and it would be a lot easier to do if I didn't have to reshuffle to look for a specific card again.
I doubt I will have a chance for her to read for me again. The last time I saw her was ten years ago - she is located where I used to live which is now 1500 miles away. I lost her card about seven years ago. I don't think I threw it away, but I haven't successfully re-located it. I also have no way of contacting the lady who referred me. Such a mess. She had predicted that I would meet my husband. Not everything that she said was correct, but we can't always be. Her method of reading was just so different.
I am pretty sure that I've seen this technique mentioned on a German board but because I have to translate everything I have no idea how to search for it.

Do you mean your variation of the No-Layout using consecutive rows of 5 cards? I've tried your method, and it works really well for me too! From your explanation, it sounds like the woman would cover each row with each subsequent row-- would she continue until all of the cards were used?

Yes, I agree that in theory the technique sounds like it would work really well. I'm interested to hear about your results with this method if you do decided to give it a try! It could be interesting to try mixing the Lenormand with the Gypsy cards too.

Please let us know if you happen to stumble on the technique again! In the mean time, I'll keep my eyes peeled for it in my travels too!

Yes, each subsequent row of cards covered the first - that is actually where I got the idea to do what I do. I'm so happy to hear it works for you. I've always had a lot of trouble with formal spreads and I feel like this way is quicker. She did continue until all the cards were used.
I'm still not comfortable enough with the Gypsy cards to combine them. I've tried it in the past and it didn't work well for me. I think I just need some more time and practice.
If I am able to locate any information at all on this technique, I will certainly post it!
