Kaph's Daily Gypsy Card Draws

I decided to start a fresh, new thread for my Gypsy card daily draws since the original thread is getting long, and the energy was getting heavy. Here's what a drew today...

Journey-------Thought-------Some Money



There is a journey being contemplated with financial restrictions.

Ah, I know exactly what these cards are referring to...

There is workshop I would like to attend that has been very much on my mind lately. It would require me to travel a great distance, and unfortunately it is not financially feasible.

Perhaps I should do an actual reading on the matter to see if there is any way I can manage to swing the trip!

Yep, that makes sense too. I have been thinking of ways to scrape up the necessary funds.

Yep, and it's the actual plane fare (travel expenses) that would be the bulk of the cost, so that's a third level of meaning for the Journey Card!

I drew Thought again today in my daily draw, so it seems I'm doing a lot of thinking lately!

Message-------Thought-------Marriage



My first impression of this draw is that I'll receive a verbal message today that will cause me to carefully consider a partnership, or some kind of commitment.

Message can also be a warning not to rush into something, so these cards could also be warning me not to rush into something, but to think it through carefully before committing myself. I think it's good advice.

Lastly, Thought can represent a man in my life, so perhaps I'll hear that he's getting married, or forming some kind of alliance-- perhaps I'll receive an invitation from him to partner up on some project together.

I've found with my daily draws that my first impression is usually the right interpretation, but I like to consider all of the angles just in case.

That was my first thought as well! I guess I should draw Thought as well. Technically, I thought of an email though. Does Message have to always be verbal? I noticed Mercury here dropping letters, not to mention Mercury and the idea of the internet; that's why I thought of email.

Yeah, Message is primarily a verbal message, and Letter is usually a written correspondence. But I don't think it's set in stone. An email is certainly possible.

Are there a lot of people cards in the Gypsy cards? Can any card with a person on it represent a person? Perhaps this is discussed in another thread; you're welcome to link, rather than clutter this one.

No, not every card with a picture on it can represent a person-- for example Fortune and Message cannot represent specific persons, but there are quite of few that can. Most of the people cards are paired up. For example,

Sweetheart and Lover
Desire and Officer
Sadness and Thought
Widow and Widower

And some people cards don't have a partner:

Judge - a man in authority
Ecclesiastic - a spiritual mentor
Thief - someone trying to take something away
Enemy - a hidden enemy or rival
Baby - a child

I think those are the main ones.

You do seem to get good results with these. I have not been using mine, but they feel more accessible after seeing the draws here at the forum. I think if I'd been able to see a reference I'd have done better to start. Something to jumpstart my intuition, because even if I stretched what Thought might mean, I'd not be likely to think, "hey, that's a guy that I know."

No, I find that I don't automatically think of the people cards as people either-- except for Sweetheart and Lover which are almost always going to be people. It's usually a secondary consideration for me.

That's how the PCs work, and I don't see why other oracles wouldn't work the same way. I think it's possible that I could be approached by a man about a possible partnership, and the warning not to jump into the situation without first carefully considering it could also apply.

The only validation I can think of for my draw from the other day would be that I talked to my brother on the phone about firming up our plans for getting together for Thanksgiving.

Letter----------Message----------Jealousy



That Jealously card seems to haunt me! I notice I drew Message again too!

Letter + Message can refer to an invitation to take a short trip. It can also represent written communication concerning a small amount of money. Whatever it turns out to be, it's probably something I won't be able to take advantage of based on that Jealousy card! Maybe it just means that it won't affect me directly, and I'll watch from the sidelines (that's what the image on the Jealousy card brings to mind).
