Kat's Gypsy Card Spread - Trip to Workshop
I decided to go ahead and do an actual reading on whether I'll be able to scrape up enough money to travel to the workshop I would like to attend next year.
Question: Will I be able to save enough money over the next few months to afford to travel to the workshop?
I'm using Kat's Gypsy Spread with Journey chosen as the significator:
------------------------------Journey
Judge---------Fidelity--------Sadness--------Thief-------Thought

The middle column represents what I want out of the situation. Sadness can denote 'longing' for someone or something, and I'll take it to mean my strong desire to make the trip.
Past or Present Influence: Judge + Fidelity
Judge can denote 'weighing the pros and cons' of a situation, and that's exactly what I've been doing over the past few days. Fidelity is never a person in the Gypsy cards (at least not according to the Hungarian tradition), so I think it confirms my strong commitment to making the trip, or that I've made a decision that I will stick with concerning the trip.
Future Outcome: Thief + Thought
Not a good outcome-- I get a definite 'no.' My immediate impression of Thief is that I won't be able to save enough money for the trip because it will be sapped away by immediate needs, and Thought as the outcome shows that the trip will remain in my thoughts and never materialize. (If the cards had fallen in the opposite order, it could have indicated that I'll be thinking about secretly stashing some money away!)
I can't say I'm surprised-- I would need to put aside more than $5000 US to make the trip happen, and with the holidays coming up, I don't see that happening unless we cancel Christmas.

Excellent reading, Kaph, though not excellent outcome. Indeed it doesn't seem you can make the trip right now but keep it in your thoughts and wishes...

Thanks, Stanze! I'm not giving up so easy though-- I don't believe that readings are set in stone, and anything can happen!
