Kat's Spread For The Gypsies - Trip to NY?

We're discussing the possibility of accompanying my brother and his wife on a trip to NY next month. In truth, we really can't afford the trip, but it's something that we would love to be able to do-- if we can manage it.

I decided to try Kat's Gypsies Spread to see if we'll be able to pull off the trip. The outcome is not at all encouraging...

I'd read the middle column of Journey + Lover to mean the trip is something important to me.

Hope + Thought suggests that this is something we've been contemplating for some time, or that my thoughts are hopeful regarding the trip.

Lover I would read as myself, and Malady can indicate an illness. I may end up getting the flu or some other illness or injure (oh, joy!). Loss indicates losing an opportunity, so it's a clear indication that the trip will not take place-- illness will keep me home.

Not the best of news. Of course Malady doesn't always indicate a physical illness, and Loss can refer to a financial loss. The best case scenario is that I don't move forward because the financial gamble would be too great. We shall see...

Yes, It hadn't occurred to me that Thought could also represent a man! In this case, it makes perfect sense that it would be my brother even though he is darker in coloring-- I suspect the coloring wouldn't necessarily apply in all cases. My brother does really want me to go.

Yes! I noticed too that my significator fell in the same position as yours did in your reading on travel. Very bizarre! It added to my sense that the trip is not going to happen.

Well, I do have the flu as the cards predicted, and the trip is definitely not going to happen. I think that's a pretty clear-cut validation on this reading.
