Comparative Lenormand No-Layout Reading
Yesterday I did a Gypsy Card reading on whether or not it would be feasible for me to attend a workshop next year that is being held in another country: Kat's Gypsy Card Spread - Trip to Workshop
I decided to get a second opinon from the Lenormand. For this spread charged Garden to represent the workshop, and drew a standard No-Layout:
Crossroads + Key + Birds + Garden + Mountain + House + Cross

It looks like the Lenormand cards are in agreement with the Gypsy cards!
The journey (Crossroads) to the spiritual (Key) workshop (Birds + Garden) will be blocked (Mountain) due to family (House) responsibilities (Cross). I also get a sense from Crossroads + Key that it's the right decision not to go to the workshop ( I find it particularly interesting that the first two cards in the Gypsy card reading were Judge + Fidelity, which provides a very similar meaning).
Oh, well... my responsibility is to my family first, and I would not want it any other way.

Interesting. I'm not familiar with Roads as a journey, for me that would be a Ship. Roads still come back to choices and the proverbial crossroads to me. Is that a Kaph meaning or is it from Sylvie?
Thanks for sharing.

You're welcome!
Actually it's from several sources including Sylvie. For example, Ship + Crossroads would be 'a trip by car' or 'a road trip.'
I'm not sure if I've only seen it used this way in the French tradtion. I think Treppner uses Roads as a journey too, but I'd have to double check.

Thanks, Fenn. I thought I remembered that, but I haven't had a chance to double check.

Hi Kaph
I think that even if you consider the Roads as decision (the more used meaning) I think the whole story makes sentence.
Surely (Key) you need to make a decision (Ways) to join the workshop (Birds + Garden). There are obstacles (Mountain) due to family (House) responsibilities (Cross).

PS: If this workshop will be ever realized here in The Netherlands you (or anyone else) is more than welcome to save some money with hotels and stay at my place !!

With the latter, it sounds like she's using Roads to mean "two." Good to note. I haven't read the Treppner material in a long time.

Thanks, Stanze! The Netherlands is on my list of places to visit one day, so I may take you up on your offer someday.
