Grand tableau - for learning and discussing

Hi everybody

I've done it yesterday. As I said in the other thread this is open to everybody who wants to give their ideas and opinions. I just suggest one thing as this is meant for us all to learn. If someone gives a meaning can the person also explain why and how did he/she made the connection (knitting, crossing, mirror, etc)? This way we can all have a good insight on other ways of reading it.

I'll give my own insights after the tableau. I usually keep thinking and thinking on it for days so it's possible I'll come later with more thoughts bop

I've used this spread as suggested by grashalm and also as I've never used it before.

I first looked at the 4 corners in this direction (sun+lilly+garden+anchor) = I could only see good things, family, stability, recognition.

Then I looked at the first 3 cards: sun+man+scythe = an optimistic man but also moody (I had to look to the card after the scythe to get a better feeling. It came the moon so I saw it as someone that changes mood easily).

I like to breakdown the board in left and right and sometimes in upper left and down left and upper right and down right. This time I've done only left and right.

Left side, beginning from sun till tower:
-An optimistic man, but emotionally instable (sun,man,scythe,moon)
-There is a woman he knows that is his friend from a long time (book, snake,dog,tree)
-She hide some lies regarding a relationship or documents (maybe it's a businness relationship or a love relationship) but these lies will be discovered (mice before fox) (mice+fox+letter+ring)
-Maybe the discover of these lies will bring him (or her) success and changes in a businness thing (or even something that is connected with the law) (garden+star+storks+tower)

Right side, beginning from flowers till anchor:
- The first line talks about romantic conversations, good talkings, etc, even regarding families; (flowers+heart+birds+lillies)
- These conversation took place at home (I can think internet connection) but they were blocked. I'm just there behind the mountain showing that this was in the past (whips+house+mountain+woman)
- An obscure situation (I think related to feelings as the clouds are knitted with the heart) will pass bringing a new beginning and a stable financial situation? (clouds+child+key+fish)
- This road is now finishing bringing a stability period (paths+coffin+bear+anchor)

The last four cards, cross+clover+rider+ship
- The sorrow will go quickly and I'll receive news from far away.

Wow!!! That is for now... open for learning!!!!!

As I wasn't 100% sure whether to do this is for a male or female, I've read this as though for myself if that's alright with you Stanze.

Because the Lady is on the far right of the spread, it would suggest there isn't much of a future here, but, I'm going to disagree as I think other cards will give enough detail to countermand this thought.

Lady & Birds – A talkative woman, good at communicating but a little nervous, (yes I agree, I talk a lot when I’m nervous).

Lady, Key, Coffin & Rider – An important woman in my life is ill although she is usually quite active, (at the time of viewing these cards my mum has been feeling unwell).

Lillies, Lady, Fish & Anchor – There seems to be a lot of wealth and business influence here, an older woman with experience may bring beneficial influence to me regarding a business venture, (I’m thinking of different ways I could make a business which will work around my family and my disability).

Book, Snake, Dog, Tree, Whip, House, Mountain & Lady – A woman with a secret, friendly woman, friend/man is ill or connected to medicine, disagreements regarding medical matters, conflicts at home, frustration at home/coldness, a lonely woman. (My dad needs a procedure done this week, he is reluctant to go to the hospital, although mum’s adamant it needs seeing to, if it doesn’t get sorted it can lead to serious consequences. There have been tense moments in the house and a cold atmosphere at times. Mum is keeping secret that she had a psychic reading in which the medium told her that dad would have some serious health problem in August this is to do with his heart, (this is not supposed to be done unless she has strong proof to suggest it, but mum’s scared she’s going to lose my dad this year).

I noticed the Sun, Man & Scythe which to me suggests a successful operation.

I am in a relationship with a man slightly younger than myself and I have trust issues because of an incident which occurred two years ago.

Man & Book – Educated man, intelligent, discreet, secretive, (yes, and the secretive part is what causes the trust issues)

Man & Snake – Man with mother/mistress (I know he’s definitely got a mother, the mistress is a worry)!

Man & Dog – This suggests a loyal friend (does this actually mean he is loyal to me, or vice versa)?

Man knighted by Tree, Letter & Mice – Again, illness for a worried man, letters to/from a man.

Lady knighted by Heart, Child & Bear – A loving woman, with a child/young lady, hot-tempered, (mum is raising my daughter until my back problem gets better, and she does get frustrated as my daughter can be quite a handful for her, especially under the current circumstances).

The Central cards, Tree, Whip, Ring & Clouds – Disagreements regarding medical matters, a chronic illness which is uncertain, but passing. Disagreements over a contract, conflict will pass, relationship problems.

Cross, Clover, Rider & Ship – Temporary relief from suffering, news about luck or money, from a distant place or information about a journey.

Sun, Lilly, Garden & Anchor suggests late achievement, public recognition, long-term success. Happy event/party, stability and security, sexual satisfaction. Job in connection with an audience. (I’ve recently passed several different exams for subjects like bookkeeping, and now I’m doing a dream analysis course, which I’m hopefully going to pass. Before my back problem, I was a club singer, I wonder if I’ll be able to do that again)?

The Ring knighted by Scythe, Snake, Stars, Cross, Bouquet, House, Coffin & Rider – The relationship was in danger, a woman in partnership, successful contract is signed, an unpleasant situation. Engagement, contract for a house, relationship break up, proposal of marriage.

Focus of the reading around the Ring & Dog, House, Whip, Letter, Clouds, Storks, Tower & Path - Club, society, conflict in a relationship, contract or agreement, relationship problems; commitment, engagement, marriage, will actually break up, decision about a partnership.

Focus of the reading around the Heart & Bouquet, Birds, Whip, House & Mountain – Romantic love, difficulties concerning love are not for long, inner conflict in love, loving home and family, coldness of heart/arterial blockage.

My partner and I are having an engagement party at the end of June and this coincides with my 40^th birthday. He has made it perfectly clear for some time that marriage is not on the agenda, however I needed some security and so the engagement will go ahead as planned. I feel a little restrained, as things are not being planned together, and I feel his attention and heart isn’t really in it, even though he says he is. I’m concerned that this relationship will break apart because of financial issues as well as the trust issues, my parents have been looking after me since my op, and even though I should be on the mend, there seems to be a problem that I can’t quite get to the bottom of. I feel guilty that mum is doing the job I’m supposed to do with my daughter, and my dad’s health problem is getting us all uptight and I feel like there could be arguments coming unless I bite my tongue and just let it be. I hope my reading is sufficiently described as I am still learning about the cards as well as the spreads. What do you think?

It was funny that you could adapt the reading for your own situation. I'm a female, so the reading was for me (just answering your doubt Wink

).

It was interesting to see how you related the cards. What I try to do is build up a story. I'm not any professional here and maybe the way I try to do is not exactly the good way but I try to get all the information I read from the cards and make a story. It has to make sense (even the parts I don't know).

I have one doubt on your reading: first you saw the lady as you then later when knitting you mentioned your mother? Is that correct or did I read it wrong?

Hi Stanze

Yeah, I was a bit unsure about that, as at the moment I am obviously recouperating from spinal surgery, but I think sometimes when two people i.e. mother and daughter are particularly close as we are, we do tend to feel each others pain, anguish etc... and what she has been feeling, is also what I have been feeling too, so I'm guessing that it's a half and half situation.

I'm no professional on this and this is my first major attempt at interpreting the Grand Tableau, but I took it from a female perspective as I wanted to mention the card being on the extreme right.

But because of the issues re: my dad, my partner, my family, I thought I'd try and deal with those aspects as best as I could. I focused around Lady, Man, Ring and Heart, so apoligies for any confusion. I also saw the Male as my dad re: the operation, and my partner as the secretive man with mother/mistress. I'm possibly just getting a bit carried away, lol.

I look at that big layout and my mind shuts down. I see a zillion and one possible combinations, but I can't figure out how to pull any of it together to make sense. I'm not sure if I'm just not ready for the GT, or maybe it's just not for everyone. shrug

But I'm very much enjoying this thread!

Hello Stanze and friends,

to make an overview for me I look at the first card. For me it´s the present.
Here it´s the sun: In the moment you have a lot of energy and an positive charism. You are optimistic and full of life.
The cards at position two (man) state for me the influence. Perhaps it is a real man or this card can mean that you are very independent.
The cards in the corners can give you more information about the situation/ frame (garden, sun, lilly, anchor): You are consistent with yourself and your family gives you energy (sun - lilly). Your family keeps you grounded (lilly - anchor) and you must be a lot of people in your family (garden - lilly).
Your job gives you a lot of energy (sun - anchor), perhaps it is a social work or in your job there´s a familial atmosphere (anchor - lilly). I think you have to do with a lot of people in your job (garden - anchor).
Then I look to the middle cards , that´s for me the topic (tree, whips, ring, clouds). There a meaningful discussions about your live. You look into the subject "your live": what do I really want...and so on (tree - whips).
The ring can symbolize a relationship or a contract. But you said that your topic your relationship is. With the whips it can be both (symbolize the number two). Tree with ring: bond for life. You look into this bond of life (whips - ring with tree) and it falls into space (clouds).
I don´t know some of these expression, so I had to look in a dictionary- I hope it is clear want I mean.

I'm also no professional either on this reading (the grand tableau and by all means Lenormand :o ) that's why I've post this tableau here and made it free so everybody could share their perspectives and methods on how to read it. What amazed me is that you could apply it for your situation.

And, of course, there's no need for excuses as "making confusions" (you said it, not me Very Happy

) is the way I like to learn ...

I understand what you mean, lol, at first glance I was trying to read it from your perspective, but it just seemed to jump out at me that it mirrored my own situation. Even though these are practice readings, I think these cards are a lot more in tune with us than we realise. Could it be that there is something else we can learn by this?

I was looking at them again last night, and kept wondering what inspired me to use the method I did, maybe it's because I'm a novice that I chose the first method I've come across, i.e. combinations. I have now attained several other books etc... on Lenormand and Cartomancy thanks to spirity and I will be trying out some other methods if the first one does not seem clear enough. I'm having a blast with these cards, I really wish I'd come across them way before now.

As this tableau was about myself maybe it's interesting to comment or give some kind of feedback - at least for myself I think interesting - in a way to sharp the reading?

I'll be doing it now but if you think it's not a good idea so I'll keep it for myself in the next postings.

That's true and it's absolutely correct.

Everything is correct. I'm curious at the meaning of whips when you say that I look for this bond of life (ring and tree). In fact I do look for that and the situation now is into space...

Okay, I'm determined to contribute to this thread!

Woman mirrors book Fish, and Book and Fish mirror Mice. The woman is educated and she has good business sense. There is a secret about money that is revealed.

Since this is an actual reading, and I know you've been looking for a new place to live, let's take a look at House in this spread:

Woman is in the House of Star showing that she has good ideas and wants to make a new start, but Mountain shows she is blocked.

House is in the house of Fox showing that cleverness and shrewdness is necessary in the search for a new home, otherwise there is risk of choosing the wrong place to live.

Heart + House + Child = querent would like to find a new home but Coffin and Mountain show stagnation and blockages

House knights to Ring, Moon, Lily, Fish, Bear & Paths - despite the current stagnation and blockage, a contract will be signed very soon on a new place -- within 2 weeks or 2 months with the support of a business man/ property mgr.

House mirrors Child and Dog, and Dog and Child mirror letter - a friend provides information about a new home (this idea has come up consistently in your spreads. Wink

)

Very interesting the way you add up the mirrors, I mean, you saw the mice as "revealing a secret" instead of showing "losing money" (fish+mice).

Everything matches and the future is yet to be seen. The blockages I see as the difficulties that exists here in The Netherlands to rent a house with a decent price. Unless you have no home at all it can take a while. So, the SOON is still to come and that will be welcome. How did get the idea of 2 weeks or months? By paths?

Thanks, Stanze! Fish has Key and Anchor next to it, showing success and stability, and Book not only mirrors Mice, it touches it too. And Sun above book supports the idea of a secret revealed. So that's why I associated Mice with Book rather than money. Wink

I'm lookind at the bad card:Scythe+Book+Fox+Whips-some secret lies will be disclosed and lead to an argument.The Dog is near the Scythe and Fox-so it can be a person that you know him,untrustful friend.If I connect Dog+Flower-it can be a woman.The Whip is touching the Flower card.
