Past Lives

I'm really enjoying all the discussion about past lives which has started since Kaph posted the Past Life Spread!

I myself also have some past life memories. I've never done a professional regression, although I would be interested to do so and see what happens.

My existing memories are brief but vibrant. I recall images and moments of being a servant in ancient Greece, a housewife in frontier America, and a nurse in revolutionary Russia. So far, that's as much as I know. I won't get into the gory details too much... although Greece wasn't too graphically gory to my knowledge.

I will definitely try out the Past Lives spread to see what useful information I can discern!

My brother studies the Spiritism (from Alan Kardec) and the spiritists believe in reincarnation as a way of growing and enlightning. They do regressions when it's necessary but they say it's not so good to do that often. The reason is that sometimes you are linked with someone that you had a debt in the past.

This person maybe could had made you suffer a lot and now came back as your father, for example. Someone without a good stability could begin to hate his/her own father because of this.

Some people (mediums) have said I've been priest or nun sometimes. In fact I'm writing my book and I have chosen a priest as main character. My advisor, a real priest, said that I describe things as I've knew it... well, maybe...

I think all explorations of this nature involve a risk. My memories are involuntary - in fact for many years I specifically avoided delving into them. I was young and uncertain when the first memories surfaced, and I knew I was not ready to expose myself to what I might find.

As I mature (inasmuch as I ever will, lol) I find myself more and more curious about why the memories have surfaced and what they might mean. I am generally of the opinion that there is a reason for these.

For example, I suspect that the Greece memory has to do with my draw toward service. I was a servant. With my Russia memory, I wonder if my past life as a nurse has an impact on various people telling me I should look into healing (for instance, Reiki) as a consideration.

I'm still not certain about the frontier America one, but that one is so far the most traumatic of them.

I agree, Stanze, that this is not something that should be done too often, if only because you could find yourself living in the past even more than we tend to do on a day-to-day basis.

I can understand where you all are coming from . fore, I too have had recent memories of a life , but not of this fold, they take place of being elsewhere, and from another world............ with beauty, balance and grace, where everything is of order, with elders and love and light.

Give me a bit, cos I'd like to give it a try with playing cards as well (not my strongest divinatory tool, but it's working so well for folks...)
