Question Spanish Cards

Post  BarbarellaE on Mon Jul 20, 2009 8:57 pm

Hey...
I have a deck of Spanish playing cards, the Baraja Espanola. Here is a link with meanings in English...the meanings are pretty event-driven and practical.

Hi Sungos,

you can find good meaning for Spanish playing cards here: http://www.consultacartas.com/baraja_espanola.html

It's in Spanish, but maybe you can translate it with google.

I forgot to mention that The Baraja Espaņola card meanings that I have were used in the 1920's. I just need to find the dark book and translate them in English.

Hope it helps.

I read Spanish cards but I use another method, this one seems pretty traditional.

Question Re: Spanish Playing Cards

Post  rif on Sat Aug 01, 2009 2:49 pm

Hi,

I don't know if any of you noticed this thread about Marc du Pasquale.

Trieste and I have been looking for the origin of his playing card meanings, because he only gives the abbreviated deck in his book. (We'd like to see the full deck.) He traveled with and learned from Spanish gypsies.

If you have any input it would be most appreciated! I can also give a few of Marc's definitions over there, beyond the couple cards mentioned, to see if it rings a bell for those of you working with Spanish cards.

Thanks!

thanks
