Green 7 – The Open Door

The Green Suit: Development, desire, growth, and progress.
Description:
Shustah Green 7 depicts an open Dutch-style door looking out into a field of grass. A fence or barrier can be seen in the distance. A potted vine climbs along the inside door frame.
Symbolism:
Open door: An open door symbolizes a chance to escape, but it also reveals new opportunities being presented.
Dutch-style Door: The Dutch door with its two halves is a reminder that an open door provides both an entry and an exit. In the Shustah image, both halves of the Dutch-style door are wide open indicating a complete release from restrictions in both direction.
Fence: A fence or barrier represents limitations, and holding something in, or keeping something out. The fence in the distance beyond the open door is a reminder of the limitations and responsibilities that come with freedom.
Vine: The vine represents growth, progress, and ambition.
How to read The Open Door:
“When one door closes, another opens.” The Open Door presents an opportunity for change. It denotes stepping out the box, and moving into a wider area of experience. In a general sense, this card symbolizes the chance to improve one’s circumstances.
On the one hand, The Open Door represents a physical release from limitations and restrictions. This card can denote any liberating action such as freeing oneself from an unhealthy relationship, or joyfully leaving an unhappy work situation. The Open Door reveals a potential outlet for positive change, but it always includes the element of choice.
As the Dutch-style door reminds us, The Open Door also symbolizes a new opportunity being presented to the seeker, and the choice of whether or not to take advantage of the new offer. This card reveals an opportunity for growth, and the chance to advance toward a particular goal.
On a mental level, The Open Door indicates increased awareness, and an open mind. This card symbolizes honesty, or learning the truth. It can also represent something being revealed or uncovered. Wherever this card falls in the Zodiac, it denotes a new level of awareness.
On a spiritual level, this card represents a shift from one level of consciousness to another. It denotes spiritual advancement, but within limitations as symbolized by the fence.
The open door always presents a choice. In the end, it is up to the seeker whether or not to cross the threshold, and take advantage of whatever is offered by this card.
Examples of The Open Door in the Houses:
1st House: Represents an open, honest personality. It can also indicate doors opening on a personal level.
2nd House: Denotes a new financial opportunity, or a new source of income.
3rd House: Open mindedness, and freedom of self expression.
4th House: Moving out of the family home, or an opportunity for new living arrangements.
8th House: Can denote a responsibility ending, and a chance for increased freedom.
10th House: A job promotion, or new career opportunity. Leaving one job for a better one.
11th House: A chance to advance socially, a new circle of friends.
Reversed:
In the reversed position, The Open Door can denote being closed off, or feeling trapped and confined.

I'm so glad to see you writing about the Shustah! I love this deck - it's my more "serious" deck, it always gets to the heart of things.
I hope you will continue to write about them...
I may have to get up at 5 am so that I can have the pleasure of reading everything! lol

Hi Spirity,
Yes, I do plan to write more about the Shustah-- if I can find the time!
The Shustah is an amazing deck, and I'm so surprised that there isn't more interested in the Shustah. I was hoping to generate some interest, so I will post more of my ideas and experiences with these cards.
