Shustah Three Card reading
I love the pages of Shustah, but I am still very shaky with them...
I did a three card reading today (premise, problem, result) and I am perplexed as to the message... lol..
Premise card: Black 13 - Destiny (I have no idea how to read this card!!)
So I am to assume that destiny is at work in my life
The problem: Green 14 - Lord of contemplation
The issue at hand seems to be that I am thinking too much? I look at the page and to me, the man appears to be quite lost in thought - daydreaming in some far off place. So much so that if I said something to him, he may not hear me...
The result: Black 3 - Taurus
I need to come back to Earth, ground myself and employ a more practical approach to my decision making process...
I am having the hardest time with the Destiny card, but any feedback is greatly appreciated!
Thanks in advance!

Re: Shustah Three Card reading
Hi Contessa,
I love these cards too!
Here are some additional insights...
The Card of Destiny can show that destiny has a hand in the situation. This card can also indicate change, or fluctuating energies. Like the Lenormand Moon, it can also represent the emotions.
If you keep in mind that when you do an astrological wheel spread, you're basically doing a horary chart on the situation in question. If you think of the Card of Destiny as the influence of the Moon in the chart, the card may make more sense to you. I'm not sure if you have a background in astrology-- if so, it helps, but it's not necessary by any means.
The combination of the Card of Destiny and the Lord of contemplation can indicate indecision, or going back and forth in your mind over the matter at hand.
Yes, Taurus is a very grounded energy. It's steady and slow moving, but it's also very productive-- although success usually takes longer than one would hope. Taurus can also indicate holding on too tightly, to something. So these cards could indicate feeling torn about whether to release someone or something.
Taurus is also the natural ruler of the 2nd house of money and personal resources, so if your question had to do with finances, it shows long range success through dedication and perseverance.
Hope this helps,
K

Re: Shustah Three Card reading
I have only dabbled in astrology, but looking at destiny as the moon (and the Lenormand reference as well) helps to bring a lot more clarity. I have had this page come up more than once and was very confused!
Your insights are quite spot on. And your explaination does work for me on many levels!
Thank you so much!!!!

Three Card Draw
Hi Contessa!
I draw three cards every morning. I usually don't ask a question, but ask for guidance for the day and to let me know what's going on that day. Kinda like a "heads up". The first card represents my morning. The second card the day. The third card the late afternoon or evening. I have significator cards for certain people in my life. The Noisy Seabird seemed to keep coming up on the day Kris would call. So this card represents my friend Kris who talks and talks and talks. If that card comes up I know I will get a phone call from that person or I should call them. It's interesting how the cards are "right on". This is just another way to think about how to do your three card draw.
Kapherus... do you have significators with the Shustah cards for certain people in your life?
Love and Light,
Diane

Hi Diane,
Yep, I sure do-- for all the oracles I read, not just Shustah. What I find most interesting is that when a card I use to represent a certain person in my own life turns up in reading for someone else, it almost always represent a person with similar temperament in the querent's life (people are not always so different as we might think).

Re: Shustah Three Card reading
Are there any other books out there about the Shustah? I have the one from the card set. I wish there was more written info!
Diane, thanks for sharing how you read. I really like that idea a lot. I was using the method in the book because I am so unfamiliar with these cards.
Kapherus, I wish I could download your brain into a .pdf document, and I do so mean that in a good way

Hi Contessa,
As far as I know, there's only the one book by Ann Manser and Cecil North.
I was very fortunate to have lived and worked in the St. Petersburg, FL area in the early 1990's when Shustah had its renaissance. I learned the divination side of Shustah from a woman who studied directly with Cecil North, and I also had the privilege of attending a workshop with Mr. North. He is (I'm assuming he's still with us) a very gifted astrologer, and a master of color therapy.
I've considered writing a book about my experiences with Shustah, but I don't know how popular the cards are today, and there might not be a market for another book. I know the cards are OOP, and eventually the available stock is going to run out. In the mean time, I may decide to sit down and put together an e-book or correspondence course at some point in the future since Shustah finally seems to be catching on online.

Yes, I really like the way you interpret your daily spreads too! I think this idea could work well for other oracle cards too. I'm going to give it a try.
Thanks for sharing your method!

Kapherus!
I would be first in line for your e-book and correspondence course!!! Please do it! Please, Please, Please! Sorry for begging, but I'm desperate to learn! Also... in your response to "my method"... you are just being humble saying that. Your humbleness just makes me love you more.
Love and Light,
Diane

... and Kapherus, since mercury is in retrograde, let me clarify about "my method". I think you have done this kind of reading before, morning, afternoon, and evening, and you are being humble to give me some credit. Is this clear as mud?
anyway... I hope you understand what I'm saying.

Hi Diane,
No, seriously! I kid you not that it never occurred to me to read the 3-card spread as morning, afternoon and evening. I wasn't just being humble or nice. I've read three cards as 'past, present, future' and 'premise, problem, solution (or outcome),' but I've never thought to apply each card to a portion of the day.
So the credit is definitely real and honest-- I do plan to try out this method myself. Cross my heart.

morning, day, and evening.
Hi Kaph!
Really??? Ohhhhhhhhhh............. OK!
This morning my three cards were...
Blue 9 The Big Wish
I've been thinking about going back into teaching so I can make some money... so I can pay rent. I was going to stop by the Waldorf school and pick up an application.
Red 6 The Closed Gate
After I saw this card I decided not to drop by the school, but to call first.
I did. I found out that you must pick up applications at a different school, different city where their classes are for teaching teachers the Waldorf way.
Yellow 7 The Treasure
I went to their website and found out that it costs $8,000 to be trained as a Waldorf teacher and three years to do it.
Kaph, can The Treasure mean you pay money instead of receiving it? Since I don't do the reverse with the Shustah cards like you do... hhhhmmmmmm
The summation was that I would not be a Waldorf teacher. And the cards are right. This did not come as three periods of time. Sometimes it doesn't.
Oh well...
I need to figure out Plan B to earn money. I'll put my application in somewhere else.
